Friday Favorites: Edition 2

Happy Friday All!!

For those of you who are new to the blog, "Friday Favorites" is a series that I started as a way to share big or small things that made me smile and helped to make my week great!  This blog was never just about sharing sessions but has been a way for me to journal life whether it be time spent with family, road trips or anything in between I've loved looking back at them.

The unexpected positive of this series?!  I found myself being more thankful and appreciating little things throughout the week that I wouldn't have normally noticed and that is ALWAYS a good thing!

Without further ado, a few pieces of my week that made it great!

A Weekend Away and Bucket List Towns: This past weekend I traveled with some friends to Charlevoix, MI for a camping trip to celebrate our friend's upcoming wedding.  When they told me where we were going I COULDN'T wait!  My friend Lydia has been telling me about this town forever and it's been on my bucket list of Michigan places to visit.  We had a blast and the town didn't disappoint.  I blogged the entire trip, see more pictures here!  Oh, and Lyds if you still want to go, I wouldn't complain about going back! πŸ˜‰

Good 'Ole Target:  90% of my wardrobe is thrifted but I can't pass up a good deal every once in a while!  I recently realized I don't own a pair of simple black heels.  I have WAY too many other ones but they are all fancy (and somewhat uncomfortable).  I found this classic pair on clearance at Target a few weeks ago and can't believe how comfortable they are!!  I have worn them to work a few times without sore feet at the end of the day!  Yayyy for comfort AND style!

The Perfect Color Purple: By now you know that Purple is my favorite color!  When rebranding with purple I was determined to find a shade that was not too bright, still looked professional but wasn't so muted that it looked grey.  The one I decided on I like to call "Vintage Lavender."

Along the way I realized I don't own ANY purple clothes?  How is that possible?  Turns out purple is a really hard color to wear as well as decorate with.  Think about it, when is the last time you saw purple decor?  It just isn't a thing (unless you are going for the Disney princess look).  Anyway, while in Charlevoix this weekend I found a purple shirt at Gliks that was my EXACT brand color!  I'm not sure if it even looks good on me but I just had to have it! πŸ˜‰.  As for purple decor, I have ONE lavender colored candle in my living room and for now that will have to do! haha!

Childhood Friends and Beach Picnics:  My friend Brianna lives in Minnesota and comes to here hometown every summer.  It was so fun to be able to catch up with her and her two kiddos Wednesday evening.  We met at the lake and ate dinner and played until the sun set.  Ahhhh!  Sweet, sweet summer time!

PS.  Notice Tilly in the background, she was having fun brushing my hair.  What a sweetie! <3

A Campfire Favorite in a Bar!:  Anyone else guilty of pinning recipes and then when you actually want to make something you search for something new anyway?  I wanted to make a treat to share at our beach picnic and decided to actually USE one of my saved pins.  I grabbed the most recent one called "Gooey, Ritz, Peanut Butter, S'mores Bars."  I knew I had Reeses in my freezer and ritz on hand from July 4th's Smores.  They didn't disappoint!!  An easy, gooey and a delicious version of a ritz/peanut butter smore!  Find the recipe here (Apparently i spelled "gooey" wrong on my insta stories, opps!)

That's all for this week!  Enjoy your weekend!
