This engagement session is much anticipated! Five years to be exact! I’ve been friends with Kelsey for many years and have always thought her and Kevin made the perfect couple! I remember talking weddings with Kelsey years ago…
Travis and Kaylee’s wedding was my first one of 2019. I was SO excited and anxious to get behind the camera again. There is nothing like photographing weddings. I absolutely love every part of it and am so honored to continue being a part of so many couple’s wedding days!
In the snowy tundra we call the Upper Peninsula of Michigan it’s full blown winter here and people have been singing Christmas songs for weeks! I LOVE Christmas but try to stick with the fall season at least through Thanksgiving!
Adam and Rachel choose to have a “destination” wedding in Copper Harbor Michigan! If you have ever been to the Keweenaw Peninsula you know that it is simply STUNNING in the fall. When Rachel first reached out to me, she talked about their plans to get married mid-week on the shores of Lake Superior surrounded by just their closest family and friends. I loved their vision for their wedding. Simple, intimate and in a place they loved!
Today’s post came to be while I was writing about my time at the Katelyn James Photography workshop last week. As I recapped all the wonderful details of the workshop I started to think back on how I ended up at the workshop in the first place. The more I went through the story I realized there was a message in it that was begging to be shared…
In the Upper Peninsula of Michigan you never know what kind of weather you are going to get in September (or any month for that matter). It could be 90 degrees and stifling hot or 40’s and chilly! Saturday’s wedding brought the latter but boy did it reward us with some brilliant colors!!
You might recognize these two from a few weeks ago! … It was so fun to get to know them better as a couple and give them some practice behind the camera (which they TOTALLY didn’t need) before their big day!
I know its not Tuesday! Sorry friends for the 2 day late blog post. This week has been crazy and with Monday being a holiday, instead of preparing a blog post I was driving home from the lower peninsula. I was so excited to spend my weekend catching up with friends and photographing Brice and Kaila's beautiful day!
I was so happy I was available for Garrett and Claire's big day! They had a short engagement because Garrett is in the service so when she contacted me with only a short amount of time until the wedding I was thankful I still had it open. I've know Claire's sweet sisters for awhile and was so excited to meet the third sister!
I had been "talking" with Caren over email for a few months discussing her wedding day and planning their engagement session. She seemed like such a sweetheart and I couldn't wait to meet her! When she got out of her car at the engagement session I said. "Wait! I know you!"
Happy Fourth Everyone! If you are like me, you are recovering from a fun, sugar filled, and sleep deprived day yesterday!
It may have been crazy of me, but I invited my school age nieces and nephews (8 of them) to camp at the lake with me Tuesday night! I borrowed my brothers big van, a few tents and packed plenty of snacks and sugar for a fun evening and day on the lake!
I'm not much of a writer and honestly don't generally enjoy it. I have many blog posts in line that I should be posting but I am finding it hard to jump back into my normal routine without acknowledging Sunday's tragedy.
